==Hycroft Mining (HYMC): 6-year performance

Hycroft is a U.S.-based gold and silver exploration and development company focused on its large open-pit Hycroft Mine in northern Nevada. It is not currently a producing operator in the traditional sense (active mining paused earlier, with focus on exploration, technical studies, and potential restart/development).

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation (Nasdaq: HYMC) went public via a SPAC (special purpose acquisition company) process.

  • SPAC IPO (as Mudrick Capital Acquisition Corporation): Priced around February 7–12, 2018. It raised approximately $200 million by offering units (including overallotment) at $10.00 per unit. The SPAC was formed by distressed-debt investor Jason Mudrick to target post-bankruptcy businesses.
  • Business combination / de-SPAC: Completed on May 29, 2020, with Hycroft Mining. The combined company began trading as Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation under the ticker HYMC on the Nasdaq on Mon 1June 20.
